Ziewnic Diamond PV8500 – the online price killer
6.5 kW for Rs. 108,639 from Ziewnic’s official Daraz store – about Rs. 17,000 per kW, a figure nothing else matches. Reviews run 3.8/5 over 11 ratings: real-world units work, support is the weak point. Buy it when price rules; check the warranty class on delivery. Growatt SPH5000 – when the battery matters most

Observed prices: figures come from our weekly dealer survey and live marketplace listings, not manufacturer list prices. Protection and build: IP rating, surge tolerance and warranty length, because inverters fail more often than any other component in a solar system. Service reachability: a warranty is worth what it costs you to exercise, and that is a geographic question as much as a contractual one.
We do not rank purely by price per kW – that would hand every category to Ziewnic – nor purely by brand prestige, which would hand everything to Inverex and Fronius. Almost nothing sits between these tiers, which makes the decision cleaner than it looks: you are choosing whether you are buying hardware or buying a phone number that answers in year three. Both are legitimate purchases. What is not legitimate is paying premium-tier prices for value-tier protection, which happens whenever an IP21 unit is installed on an exterior wall.
What actually kills inverters in Pakistan
- Heat. Trapped in a closed cupboard or baked in afternoon sun, capacitors age fast. Leave 30-50 cm of clearance and choose a shaded, ventilated position.
- Dust. The reason IP65 exists. Dust ingress kills fans and cooling paths, and an IP21 unit in a dusty environment is on a clock.
- Grid surges. Excluded from most warranties, which makes a Rs. 8,000 surge protection device the single best-value item in the whole installation.
- Wrong battery settings. An inverter left on a lead-acid charge profile will damage a lithium battery, and the resulting failure is rarely covered by anyone.

The rule is to size the inverter at 110-120% of your array. Undersizing clips output on the best days; oversizing wastes money and can leave the MPPT working inefficiently at low input. Check the maximum PV input wattage separately from the output rating – it decides whether you can add panels later without replacing the inverter, and arrays grow far more often than inverters do.
If you plan to add a battery

The brands behind the verdicts
Inverex
The market leader by volume and by service reach, and the brand every other is priced against. Its Nitrox flagship line covers 3 kW to 13 kW with IP65 sealing and a five-year comprehensive warranty; the Veyron II value line runs 1.2 kW to 6 kW at IP21; and the Yukon II range sits between them with what is arguably the best rupees-per-kW figure in the whole catalogue at 5.6 kW for around Rs. 97,000. Inverex also sells its own Power Wall lithium batteries, which communicate natively with Nitrox hybrids, and its own panels – the only brand in Pakistan offering all three parts of a system with one warranty conversation. That single-supplier accountability is a genuine reason to pay more, particularly for buyers who do not want to arbitrate between an inverter maker and a battery maker over whose fault a fault is.
Knox
The most underrated name on this page, and the one that rewards reading the model numbers carefully. Knox splits its hybrids into the indoor Krypton line and the IP65 Xenon line, and the pricing inside each is unusually varied: three different 6 kW Krypton models exist between Rs. 145,000 and Rs. 170,000, and in the Xenon range the 10 kW and 8 kW carry the same Rs. 320,000 price, which makes the larger unit an obvious choice for anyone whose array might grow. Knox also builds lithium batteries quoting the highest cycle ratings in the market, so a Knox inverter and Knox battery is a coherent pairing at a materially lower price than the Inverex equivalent.
Ziewnic
The price leader, and unapologetically so. Nothing in Pakistan matches a 6.5 kW hybrid at Rs. 108,639 from the brand’s own marketplace store, which works out near Rs. 17,000 per kilowatt against roughly Rs. 40,000 for the premium tier. The catalogue is broad – Dual Max hybrids from 1.6 kW, the Z5 line with a five-year warranty, the Marvel series, and TL-M2 on-grid models that are remarkably cheap per kW for net-metering projects at 10 to 25 kW. Customer reviews average around 3.8 out of 5, and the pattern in them is consistent: the hardware works, the after-sales experience is thin. Buy from the official store, confirm which warranty class you are getting, and mount it indoors.
Fronus, Growatt and the rest
Fronus is the volume value brand, selling in Platinum and Infineon Reborn series from a 1.6 kW unit at Rs. 60,000 to a 6 kW at Rs. 155,000, all IP21 with one to two years of warranty – the honest budget option for an indoor installation and a very large installed base in Pakistani homes. Growatt brings international certification and the cleanest lithium communication in its price band, which matters if the battery is the expensive part of your system. SunSaviour, Triex, SimTek and SAKO fill the mid-market with credible IP65 and IP21 options between Rs. 129,000 and Rs. 520,000 depending on size, and SolarMax Jaguar covers small off-grid needs from Rs. 37,000. At the top, Fronius remains the Austrian reference for pure net-metering installations at a price that only makes sense when export income is the whole point.
Reading a warranty properly
Warranty length is the headline, but three details decide whether it is worth anything. The first is what is excluded: surge damage sits outside almost every inverter warranty in this market, which is precisely why a surge protection device is the best-value component in the entire installation – eight thousand rupees protecting a quarter of a million. Installation outside the unit’s IP rating is the second common exclusion, and it is the reason an IP21 inverter bolted to an outside wall is effectively uninsured from day one.
The second detail is where service happens. A five-year warranty serviced in your own city and a five-year warranty requiring you to freight a thirty-kilogramme unit to Lahore are not the same product, and the difference does not appear on any specification sheet. Ask the question before you buy, not after the fault. The third is paperwork: invoice, warranty card and, where the brand offers it, serial registration. Marketplace purchases at attractive prices are perfectly legitimate, but a sealed box arriving without a warranty card forfeits exactly the thing that justified choosing a premium brand.

Why the inverter is the component that decides everything
Panels are passive. They sit on a roof, have no moving parts and no electronics, and degrade so slowly that a twenty-five year warranty is a reasonable commercial promise. The inverter is the opposite: it switches high currents thousands of times a second, generates heat continuously, sits exposed to whatever the grid does, and contains capacitors that age. That asymmetry explains a great deal about how solar systems fail in Pakistan.
In practice, when a system stops working, the inverter is almost always the reason. Panels lose output gradually and visibly; inverters stop, usually somewhere between years three and six, usually because of heat, dust or a voltage event on the grid. This is why the specification that matters most is not efficiency or brand prestige but protection and placement – the ingress rating that keeps dust out, the ventilation that keeps heat down, and the surge device that absorbs what the grid delivers.
It also explains why the value tier and the premium tier can coexist so comfortably at prices differing by a factor of two and a half. Both deliver the same kilowatts on day one. What separates them is the probability of still delivering them in year five, and what happens when they do not – whether that means a local service visit, a shipment across the country, or a replacement bought out of pocket. Neither answer is wrong. What is wrong is assuming the cheap unit carries the expensive unit’s failure profile.
